Fire Safety Plans

Exceeds the requirements of the Ontario Fire Code

The Ontario Fire Code requires all multi-residential buildings with an occupant load exceeding 10 persons to design and implement a fire department approved, fire safety plan.  {Div. B, 2.8.1.1.(1)(e)}.  To keep you compliant with the fire code, and to protect your organization and the building residents, we submit the following proposal for your consideration.

Safety Plan Training

Once a fire safety plan is in place, the Ontario Fire Code requires that your staff need be trained for their responsibilities within it.  {Div. B, 2.8.1.2.(1)} Our Supervisory Staff training program constantly evolves and has been exceptionally well-received by participants and management.  Its multi-media approach includes a delicate balance between the seriousness of this subject and humour, vital and interesting information, and open conversation and interaction about issues unique to your residents, buildings and organization.

Fire Drills

Fire drills are required quarterly for your high-rises and annually for your other buildings.  {Div. B, 2.8.3.2.(1) and (5)}.  Fire drills differ from monthly and annual testing of your fire alarm system.  Fire drills are required for Supervisory Staff to practice their response to a fire emergency.  While resident participation is encouraged, it is not required by law as your staff is.  When we assist your team with fire drills, we initially coach your team taking them step-by-step through their response and in future drills give them the opportunity to demonstrate their skills and provide you an assessment of their success.
